This is my first time trying to reply to a comment. Fingers crossed :)
Well it appears to work, internet stranger!
I think Lemmy is going through a lot of growing pains right now on a few fronts. Hopefully things will smooth out in the near future. If you like what you see here, consider donating to an instance/app so that people can develop this wonderful thing further.
Have a good day!
I only just discovered Lemmy two days ago but I already love it. Sure there's lots of room to grow, but we'll get there! I definitely intend to set up recurring donations once I've settled on an instance and app that suit my needs.
I'm really enjoying Wefwef & Mlem right now. Memmy is good too but I prefer the navigation style of the other two.
I started out on lemmy.world but wasn't able to access it for nearly half a day so I also signed up on lemm.ee and now I'm just getting a feel for the differences between the two to see what I like/dislike.
I was also having issues with lemmy.world, but that was yesterday when there was a huge influx of users and they were also doing an upgrade at some point. So far today I haven't got an error, we'll see how it goes!
I read that account migration between instances is a planned feature, it'll be nice once that is implemented.
Yeah I fully expect there to be some downtime now & then in the early phases, especially anytime there's an influx of users. I definitely got used to Reddit's outages lol. Account migration will be awesome - I can also see the possibility of tools that could make signing up for other instances a simple process if you have an existing account on an instance they are federated with.
Thanks all for the confirmation that replies are working
Test reply to this post.
Okay so it appears that the post/reply system gets hung up while processing, but the post/reply/edits do go through. (Same thing is happening on the Memmy iOS/iPadOS app.)
On the web, after a few seconds of watching the button throbber spin, you can reload / refresh the page and your comment will appear. (In the Memmy app you can wait until the json error appears, then select "Cancel" and your comment/edit will appear.)
are there automated tests for this in lemmyβs code base?
