I've been eating healthy recently and would like to add sweet potatoes to my diet since they are quite nutritious. Although I'm not a picky eater, the semi sweetness of this variety isn't appetizing to me. Does anyone have any suggestions or recipes to help them taste more savory? Thanks in advance!

Lifehacker often has links to recipes like the ones you’re looking for. Doing a Google search like “site:lifehacker.com savory sweet potato“ will turn up pages like this:

Exact same opinion on sweet potatoes, and have found a few uses I enjoy.

The sweetness can handle curries quite well. Sweet potato and chickpea curry is quite nice.

Pulled pork/carnitas something similar with goat cheese on a sweet potato is transcendent.

A root veggie roast with potatoes, carrots and sweet potatoes tossed in olive oil, sea salt and Aleppo pepper is also a total banger.

That’s about all I’ve found that I like. Hopefully someone else chimes in with some good ideas.

Salt, pepper, garlic, chipotle, coriander. If you don't like the sweetness but want varied carbohydrates you could try green (not yellow, those are much sweeter) plantains prepared similarly. Non-sweet winter squash might also also be a good choice for you, acorn I think it's the most popular. It goes wonderfully in Curry or stew. You may also appreciate celery root prepared like mashed potatoes (that's the only way I've had it).

Hmm interesting. Haven't made squash before. I'll keep that in mind.
