PSA: You can use browser scripts to securely delete your posts and comments. Don't gift Reddit your content. Force search engines to scrub dead Reddit links from their results.

Yeah, I just switched to Lemmy. Also made a mastodon account. Everyone that cares the slightest bit about Reddit seems to be leaving, the ones that mever really contributed seem to be staying for now. Spam bots and bad content will ruin the platform fast enough, they're going to be the next Digg in a few years.
14 year reddit account... Somewhat late to the party here... Happy to help crash things. Lets move the needle forward for decentralized infrastructure.

i know this isnt Reddit, but fuck you Spez.
I'll add the obligatory farewell to RIF - "the app I was happy to pay for". This seems like an interesting alternative - I hope the back end is up for it! I won't be going back to Reddit on principle.
Change is good. I'm looking forward to the fresh take Lemmy will have.
It's going to be fun see even the apps that remain no longer being served porn. They're repating the tumblr idiocy. But I understand it's because it's for their planned IPO and investors dislike that stuff.
I deleted Redditisfun in advance to get used to not having it, let's see how this goes

Yep! I have a reminder in my calendar: "Delete reddit user". 11 years of contributions gone. Already deleted all posts and comments, but kept the user back so that if anyone's keeping score, it counts.
