Every one of these articles has a quote including a weasel word like "likely" and then the headline acts like it's definitive proof...

The best reasoning I saw was on CNN comparing known Israeli strikes to the hospital with the conclusion basically "if it had been Israel it would have been many times worse."

What exactly do you mean by “these articles?” This seems less like an issue with Reuters’ reporting , and more like nitpicking by you to muddy the waters.

What exactly do you mean by “these articles?”

All the ones that say "______ says Israel not responsible"

I've seen lots, but the quote is always non-committal and the headline portrays 100% confidence.

Even in the summaries it's presented like that. But it never matches the direct quote.

It's not pedantic, the difference is substantial

The facts you seem to require only exist in the laws of physics - everywhere else you have to work with likelihoods. Especially as Hamas wouldn’t even admit it, if caught red handed.

Do you know why I am saying this? There were PRO-Hamas Demonstrations in my country, where the murder of the Israeli Civilians on 7th October was called „Fake News“ - while on the other Hand Hamas Terrorists created First Person Videos of their atrocities and they brag about it on the Internet.

Hey guys, is there any news coming out of Gaza that isn't about this fucking hospital? I'm sure there are a million other things going on over there that are worth reporting on, but instead my front page has been back and forth bullshit about this hospital for days now. And before that it was nothing but beheaded babies that maybe weren't actually beheaded but no they totally were.

Can we get some news about this conflict that isn't beheaded fucking babies or this goddamn hospital? Y'all motherfuckers bitch about reddit but at least the posts are varied over there.

Good idea. Why don’t you post something and stop complaining? This topic is still relevant.

They all focus on that hospital blast like if it's otherwise ok to bomb people's homes

Does French military have an opinion on the other times the IDF has targeted hospitals, or the other times the IDF targeted this very same hospital, or the evacuation orders the IDF continues to issue for hospitals that they plan to target?

This is the best summary I could come up with:

PARIS, Oct 20 (Reuters) - A blast at a Gaza hospital was not the result of an Israeli missile strike, but likely caused by a misfiring Palestinian rocket, the French military intelligence directorate (DRM) said on Friday.

Gaza's health ministry blamed an Israeli air strike, while Israel said the blast was caused by a failed rocket launch by militants.

The DRM does not usually release such information, but on the instruction of President Emmanuel Macron decided to make its findings public given the contrasting accounts about who is responsible.

It ruled out various possibilities, including fragments from Israel's Iron Dome air defence system or intercepted missiles being the cause.

Part of the analysis was based on open-source material ranging from the light structural damage at the hospital, including some broken windows, few destroyed vehicles and the relatively limited presence of civilian belongings at the blast site.

Israel has responded to an Oct. 7 attack by Hamas gunmen who killed 1,400 Israelis by vowing to destroy the group, putting the 2.3 million people living in Gaza under siege.

The original article contains 372 words, the summary contains 177 words. Saved 52%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!
