Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Israel is an apartheid state

[–] [email protected] 48 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Doesn't change that Hamas is a terrorist group. They're literal militarized islamofascists.

These are the MENA equivalent of if the OneSixers were composed entirely of paramilitary hate groups.

It's almost like, for once, both sides are bad for real.

The Israeli government and Hamas are both terrorist forces, and the people among their civilizations (at least those that do not support them) deserve better than them

Middle East is such a clusterfuck tbh. Mfers are wasting their potential to have a union like EU.

Two things can be true at once.

There's a reason why Evangelical groups this week are making a big new push on the Republican Party to promote politicians that are as massively pro-Israel as possible.

They are salivating for the apocalypse to happen.

But the Russian war wasn't enough? Guess they aren't Muslim enough.

Europe isn’t the holy land

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ukraine isn't mentioned in the Bible.

[–] Cerbero 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Most things aren't mentioned in there either.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

And evangelicals won't cheerlead for most of those.

Israel's apartheid regime is terrorism

[–] ghostdoggtv 2 points 1 year ago

They're basically committing blood libel by lying about decapitated babies. Their settlers paint the star of David on Palestinian homes to intimidate them into leaving the way Germans or Americans would paint swastikas on the homes of Jews. It's beyond terrorism, Palestine has no exit route and no endgame. Israel is the fourth reich.

yeah, but that wasn't the Topic here?

i swear to god, why is the go-to answer in these Topics always "but what about x?!"

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

Why are you bringing up X, formerly known as Twitter?

The headline is framed to make us forget Israel and the daily humanitarian abuses it commits by using the "GOP==bad" duopoly logic to reinforce the liberal readership's worldview.

If Hamas use terror, if the GOP uses terror, then what of Israel? Is apartheid not a form of terrorism? Was Jim Crow not a form of terrorism?

It's just a matter of location*

so is the israeli government

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

And their supporters

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago

it's like the circle of life gop funds israel who funds hamas whose actions drive fear fundraising to the gop

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Last night I was thinking how what is going on with Isreal-Palestine is exactly what the fundies in DC want, they couldn't have it better. Tons of Jews and Muslims are going to die horribly and also they will probably get an Isreal that's up to their apocalyptic standards and even a third temple and whatever else it is they want for their prophecies.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_Temple
TL;DR: The Dome of the Rock, an Islamic temple, is in the place where some fundie Christians and Jews want to build a temple because it says so in some texts that are 1000s of years old because they think it will make Jesus come back or the Messiah come.

What do you mean? The USA has plenty of people of co-oh…

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Americans on the internet always trying to make everything about their internal politics

[–] MrSlicer 1 points 1 year ago

Seems like we are all guilty to some degree.

[–] TokenBoomer 0 points 1 year ago

Didn’t read the article. Probably even agree with it. But what a conflation of ideologies. It’s like someone started their doctoral thesis and switched midstream. Maybe Likud and the GOP would be better.
