Yeh totally works, I mean, I'm sitting at my desk at work shaking and I can hardly read the screen as random words go variously in and out of focus and despite being hair trigger alert I'm also exhausted and the verge falling face down unconscious on my keyboard and I have to read every email 10 times over before actually understanding it and then somehow still respond in a way that doesn't quite make total sense. But technically, I'm awake and I'm physically here and nobody can say otherwise.

most coherent coffe drinker: ^

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

I’ll have you know I am currently slightly more coherent right now

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Have you drank coffee lol

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago

Hey. It's me. I'm in this comment.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago

Oh god. That was me last week. Waking up to "think about things" at 3am, staying awake until six and waking up at eight. I have no tolerance for days like this, I felt like absolute shit.

One coffee? No.

A lot of coffee? Yes.

Maybe on day 1. On day 100 you are simply immune to coffee and need to stop drinking coffee for 2 weeks to have any effect again.

Mate tea can also be am extra , when one is already mostly caffeine immune. Don't know why, but it works (to a degree).

Don't ask me, how I know.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago

Haha, joke is on you, that just makes me sleep even less.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Until your body builds up a tolerance and you need to keep drinking more and more to get the same high you used to from one cup.

Coffee isn't nearly enough to overcome a poor sleep schedule. That's why I'm an espresso guy.

I'm on two hours sleep and zero litres of coffee. It's late afternoon and my brain hurts

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Same. Worst thing is I could have just gone to sleep at any point, but had to play with my phone the entire night

[–] Parastie 11 points 1 year ago

I'll have you know that I'm at work now and I have no idea how much sleep I got.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I go to bed at 11pm as an adult because I like to sleep

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I tried that for years but I can't fall asleep that early. I wish I could because I also love a good night's sleep but it just won't happen unless I've gone 2 nights with 4 or less hours per night and worked both days. Then I'll sleep at 7pm right after dinner. There sadly is no in-between

Reading a book always works for me

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Thanks for the suggestion but I struggle with reading. I can't keep my attention on it and I have to reread each sentence multiple times before I get what it says. Which is more frustrating than relaxing. But it is a bit weird as I can read articles and messages just fine.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

That's fine. Let the text tire your eyes and you'd sleep soundly.

[–] missmayflower 5 points 1 year ago

I have to be asleep by 7 or 8pm to get anywhere close to 8 hours. Gotta be awake at 3am for my job lol. it sucks.

[–] plushie_neko 5 points 1 year ago

You can go to bed whenever you want, but your body don't thinks so.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

I stared at this way too long wondering what a Cheesy Poof on the sidewalk had to do with coffee.

In my defense, I'm scrolling before going to sleep and my morning coffee has long since worn off.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I've quit drinking coffee two weeks ago. I felt really numb for 8 days, and then I started to just feel normal again. Before I drank way too much coffee. Now I don't know what to do, if I want to drink a little bit of tea every day or if I want to use caffeine just on an occasional basis trying to avoid any dependency. For now I'll stick to 0 caffeine for a little longer and see how I feel. But I'd be curious to know other peoples experiences or advice.

Yea, sometimes I have day like that. I am shift worker, so my sleep schedule is constantly fucked up.

[–] RIP_Cheems 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

A pan to the head would do more for you than coffee

But can you also stand up when you want? Who's your daddy now?

[–] WereCat 1 points 1 year ago

You can afford sleeping 4x longer than me?
