partnered with Nescafe Sleep Cafe

I don't understand why nestle is involved in this, how does this venture further Nestles goal of infanticide?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Come on that is not fair, Nestlé has a Track Record of harming people of all ages! And selling you basic necessities that should be free is perfectly in line.

During its limited run, the coffee shop’s patrons could drink their coffees and then immediately rest as they took power naps inside the standing sleeping pods.

Is it normal to drink coffee right before taking a nap?

[–] Zoboomafoo 26 points 1 year ago

Yeah, chug a cup of coffee then take a nap before the caffeine kicks in, it's a common technique that people use before they die at 50 of stress

Have heard coffee naps are a thing. If you take a 20 min nap you wake up when the caffeine is really kicking in which makes you more alert. This is what I’ve heard. Your mileage may vary

As someone with ADHD, yes. Although stimulants work differently for me than for neurotypical people.

This looks like something out of a Cyberpunk Movie

Pretty much what I imagined netrunners look like at home

I would actually kinda like to try one of these out, looks kinda comfy and I always struggle to find a good sleeping position

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago

It looks like it’s gonna be a pain in the knees though. As someone who like to stretch their legs, that position looks so uncomfortable.

"slow and painful"

With my recent issues of sleeping horizontally lately, this seems like something interesting to try.

How cramped are offices that you cannot find space for a horizontal or seated nap pod (never mind the fact that having a need for nap pods may be a clue that your workers are chronically overworked).

Knock these over and stack them 2 at a time. It will take up the same space but allow people to sleep normally.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Can confirm, stacked in twos is nice sleeping. But please reconsider the knocking over, consent is key.

That's probably even a bit cheaper than a regular SanFran sleeping pod for 700$/m, although it's much smaller.

The ‘Forest’ one mimics the style of wooden saunas with its lattice woodwork.

At first glance it does look like sauna I wouldn't want to get in. Reminds me of the horrors of /r/sauna on Reddit.
