That seems like either I’m 100% satisfied with my iPhone 13 Pro Max, and I have reached my peak cell phone feature set, or the iPhone 15 just is not very enticing of a purchase, especially considering the considerable cost.

The only thing I was hoping for in the 15 was a mini model. I'm on a 14 pro now but I still miss the size of my 12 mini

I went from an 11 pro max to a 13 mini last year because I was sick of having a brick in my pocket, and I feared that the 13 mini would be the last small non-budget phone. Hopefully Apple will go back to making small phones, but in the meantime, I will be hanging on to my 13 mini for as long as I can.

Same here. I’m on my 12 mini right now!

The 14 Pro's battery is the best of any phone I've owned. Easily lasts me all day with usually 40% left when I go to bed.

The 12 Mini's was decent enough. It would nearly always last until around when I went to bed but would sometimes die and need recharging before if I was using it a lot

Honestly though, I'd give up the longer battery life for a Mini sized 14/ Pro

I was similar with the s22 small but upsized for the battery and stylus. I still love the feeling of a small phone in pocket and in my hand ):

14 pro also, battery has been fantastic for my style of usage.

Yes!!! It is terrible!! Barely last a day with moderate usage.

Overall very disappointed in the 14 pro, it is slower than my Samsung s10+. Half the time when I unlock the screen it won't respond for a minute or 2. Apple says everything is fine with it.

As. Comparison. Samsung s22 ultra streaming music, watching hours of videos, navigating for hours. Will still be 50% after 12hrs of heavy use.

I’m on an iPhone mini and I miss the size of my SE Gen 1

Just be aware that they're selling models that are USB 2.0 with the USB-C interface.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Why would you need usb 3 for charging, there are better ways to data transfer on it

[–] Ghostalmedia 7 points 1 year ago

Thunderbolt would’ve been nice for transferring photos, but no pro is going to actually use an iPhone for a long photo shoot that is going to produce several gigs of data. That’s what the DSLR is for.

99.9999% of the time, this is a charging port.

Just did a reinstall in my 13 mini through Wi-Fi iCloud backup I have gigabit internet it was still slower than I would like.

A usb3 connection would’ve been great.

I also like to use wired connection to use Lightroom on the go with my camera RAWs I ended up not using it cause usb2 is too slow. My camera doesn’t transfer raw through Wi-Fi

That's one of the only use cases where it'd be a benefit. But i can wait for a little extra while in these one off situations. Especially if I'm recovering from a boot loop or a bricked phone. Knowing it's working is relief.

Why would a feature that a company had to be forced to implement excite you?

[–] ParkedInReverse 17 points 1 year ago

My thought reading the title - 'That's all it takes for you? You were going to buy it regardless.'

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I’m upgrading, but mostly because I’ve got an 11 and the battery is starting to go. It also doesn’t have 5G, and a USB-C connection will be nice. I’m looking at the larger one, because I have big hands, so I like bigger phones.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If you have any interest in holding out another year or two a battery replacement would be much cheaper. If you’re looking forward to the upgrade then enjoy the new phone!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I also want a bigger screen. I play some Japanese mobile games that use the tiniest damn fonts that you can’t make larger, and I’m tired of squinting at itty bitty kanji.

Plus, to replace the battery, they’d have to also replace the back because the one time I had my phone out of its case to get my train pass to add money to it, and I dropped it and the glass back shattered.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Sounds legit to me. Hope it’s a great upgrade for you!

[–] Mudface 1 points 1 year ago

I think a lot of people misread my intentions on this post lol

I’d love to upgrade, but I think my phone is great still. Battery still lasts more than a day. I also like bigger phones, I use my phone like a PC, a lot of reading, writing and watching videos and stuff.

Bigger = better imo (at least for my use case)

I'm glad you are happy with what you have. I had been happy with what I had for the past many years. I have a 12 mini right now and it is the perfect time for me to upgrade. Looking forward to it because of what I currently have vs what I will get.

It's a step in the right direction but they're a long way off convincing me to try again.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I rock two phones. Was gonna either upgrade one to an iPhone 15 Pro or a Fold 5 and I chose the Fold 🤷 only interesting thing is the USB C

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I really like that the pro models are allowing “special video” now. I’d want that, except by the time I can actually afford a “pro” iPhone, that feature might be built into the non-pro models.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I only charge my phone via MagSafe... and the roadside emergency feature is coming to iPhone 14 as well, so I will probably sit out this upgrade cycle.

Honestly, this refresh was so unimpressive I'm surprised they bothered to have an event at all.

Really? I seriously dont understand people . why the fuck would you upgrade? For USB c ? If its performance then we peaked it at iPhone 11 after that everything seems to be the same to me.
