That's a pretty ironic headline for someone who is trying to get everyone to conform to her definitions of feminism and intersectionality.

Protecting female sex workers isn't feminism? This writer seems to just want to impose her morality on other women when nobody asked; that's no better than patriarchy.

Garbage opinion piece that focuses way too much on pedantry and outdated definitions. It’s like something I’d see my retired aunt post on Nextdoor.

I feel like opinion pieces should not be allowed in a news community. This is not news.

Yeah, given that Aljazera is state owned Qatari media, and Qatar isn't exactly known for its human rights, especially for women, gonna have to take this one with a pretty huge grain of salt

tl;dr:

No one who truly understands intersectionality and wants to ease the overlapping effects of multiple forms of discrimination experienced by marginalised individuals, and especially marginalised women, could be supportive of the sex trade. Feminism is - or at least it once was - the only political movement on this planet that prioritises women and girls and fights primarily to end patriarchal oppression. We must urgently refocus our feminism to place women at its very centre. Feminism is a grassroots movement that began with women who had suffered the most horrendous oppression - such as domestic abuse, sexual assault and child abuse - demanding a platform to make their voices heard. Let's return to the true and authentic meaning of intersectionality, and focus on reality - as opposed to narcissistic fantasy.
