I typically hate to brag, but I predicted Vic to Spurs

You're somewhat of a Woj yourself

Best I can do is one upvote, take good care of it!

I like how they added JJ to the ESPN panel instead of perkins

[–] Limes 9 points 1 year ago

Man I was hoping the Spurs would trade up again but I have confidence they will find another gem at 33.

I actually like the draft the Blazer have. Scoot is a great pick. Murray is a wing that can contribute now. And Rupert is a defensive steal, low risk second round steal.

Maybe we can convert a few guys. But this was great for the Blazers.

The team I am watching most closely outside of the Lakers. Very interested to see who they send out/get back.

More twins in the league to confuse the announcers

Why does nba.com list J. Hood-Schifino at 6-4 but then in their analysis call him a 'big point guard, standing at 6-foot-6'? Weak. Anyway, I am not sure about the pick considering that the Lakers need to get better ASAP. Seems like a pick for the post-Lebron future, I guess.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah but don't they need PG help? Idk who you draft at that position that helps you win now. Suppose you can deal it but maybe they were getting shit offers.

[–] fermionsnotbosons 1 points 1 year ago

True, someone reliable to handle the ball is needed now (to lower Lebron's usage) and in the future -and Hood-Schifino has great potential - but I am just saying they had options with a better chance to be plug and play into the rotation. The front office of the Lakers hopefully has something up their sleeve that gives them a fighting chance to come out of the west in 2024 without completely sacrificing their long-term future, but if they had to err in any direction I wish it was towards winning now.

I was really hoping they would take Jaime Jacquez Jr. I think he's an instant contributor and would have fit Leborn's timeline. Plus he would have been an instant crowd favorite. I guess the Heat thought so too and picked him up 1 spot later.

[–] fermionsnotbosons 1 points 1 year ago

Yes, that was my first thought too seeing Jacquez Jr. at the 18 spot. I thought maybe I was biased because of UCLA affiliation but either way he's seasoned as hell compared to all these one and done players. I feel like Miami picked him for just that reason, and I have no doubt he'll give them valuable minutes during their 2024 playoff run.

We got Dick boys, Raps in Six with the Dick.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

God please let the bulls trade DeMar and not Zach tonight

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

I wonder if Bilal and Wemby will be playing for the Fiba team this summer

[–] AskThinkingTim 3 points 1 year ago

Future MVP will be drafted in the ads once again.

[–] cavsfan 3 points 1 year ago

Just like everyone in the know had said - the Cavs take Emoni Bates

[–] decadentrebel 3 points 1 year ago

Happy with how it turned out for the Mavs. Plus, they traded down to avoid the curse of the tenth pick! lol

a bit disappoint as a megathread lol

Community's still pretty new and there's not much in the way of mobile apps for Lemmy right now. Probably would have been more posters otherwise. I can't even login on my ipad through the browser, haven't been able to figure out why yet.

[–] BrerChicken 3 points 1 year ago

Jerboa works fine for me. I like it better than Baconreader, which I used for a long time, and definitely better than any of the other apps I tried for that one website.

Safari works for me. Better than Edge or Firefox on a PC.

Make sure that you’re trying to sign into the right instance however. This is a common problem as all the instances have similar looking signin pages, but you can only get in through the instance where you set up your account. Just type in the url of your instance and then select login from the menu.

In terms of apps, Mlem for iPhone (and possibly iPad?) is improving by leaps and bounds in the past two weeks. Still very beta, and as far along as the Android one Jerboa, but functional to a significant extent. A new version should be coming out this weekend.

Trust the process brother

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lol yeah, I'm dipping in a bit but kinda dead. Bulls don't have a pick so I only have a passing interest anyhow

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

quite the same here: Cavs fan, we have like the 300th pick

[–] nbafantest 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Didn't even cross my mind to check here.

Normally I'd be all over the Reddit nba thread.

If mods can keep it up for events and games I'll be here for the next one tho.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I'm still battling my reddit addiction but I haven't come back yet since day 1 of the protest. A growing community here would be great

[–] Barns 3 points 1 year ago

Pick 1 - Wemby as expected

[–] rezz 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

Who are Thunder trading now after this pick? Mann and JRE gone + 2024 picks for future ‘25+s?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Could definitely see those guys gone. Saric is also expendable I think.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

The Blazers had to draft Scoot to trade the pick... Let's see how this cooks...

[–] Fearghas 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Whitmore falling has to be one of the bigger surprises. Think he was still being mocked in the top ten before today. Also happy to see Strawther go in the first round, to the Nuggets no less.

[–] fermionsnotbosons 1 points 1 year ago

Heard on the radio broadcast that scouts were worried about Whitmore's 'basketball iq', possibly from recent workouts? Whatever the fuck that means. Dude can obviously play well enough, has all the tools and talent, and is a steal for the Rockets at 20.
