From what I've seen of crossposts so far, the thread in each community has separate comments.

Very strong guard/wing lineup, but I'm less optimistic about their frontcourt. Olynyk/Powell isn't terrible, but I don't see much in the way of rim protection unless Edey goes ham.

Guess we'll see if any of the players back him up on this since they supposedly met with him. They certainly didn't waste much time hitting the portal.

If dame had been available before the porzingis trade it might have happened. Now I doubt Boston could make it happen without giving up Jaylen Brown since most of their other assets are gone.

Gonzaga here. Miss the flairs right now, but game threads might be more civil without them.

I’m guessing fvv/jalen green/brooks/Jabari/sengun. Mills, Christopher, whitmore, jeff green and landale off the bench? Defense is a question mark but they could push for the playin if green and Jabari take a step forward under Udoka.

By then the Warriors window will have closed and they'll be looking to start a rebuild. I wouldn't be surprised if Draymond and Curry both retire in the same offseason.

42.8 million per year for 3 years? FVV is a solid player but damn that’s way too much. More than luka, trae, booker, SGA and more. Rockets hurting themselves here.

Some much needed depth during the regular season, but how playable is he during the playoffs?

I don't think Giannis is going anywhere, but the Bucks window for contention is pretty short. Lopez is the perfect frontcourt partner for Giannis and I'm skeptical they can find anyone near as ideal a fit if he doesn't re-sign this offseason. Not to mention Jrue and Khris are both in their 30's and starting to decline. If Mil doesn't make some good signings or trades then they could become a non-contender faster than people might expect.

I'm not surprised to see him take his option. According to spotrac there's only 5 teams under the cap and 7 teams with practical cap space so not a lot of possible suitors. He gets more money overall by waiting until next offseason to pursue a 2-3 year deal before retiring.

There were always 'guard rails' as you put it. If you spouted hate speech or made some other kind of post that offended people then you were likely to end up banned. That's always been true whether it's irc channels, phpbb forums, online chatrooms, reddit, lemmy or whatever the medium of choice at that time was.
