Man this hit hard entirely due to the wording, before seeing the image.

Just last Friday, I had to let my 12 year old Chili strut regally across the rainbow bridge after a protracted battle with her kidneys that ultimately was just a symptom of a cancer. And exactly 1 week before that, my partner had to let go of her Leo, who was just as old but had since birth struggled with his weak heart.

I was prepared for the worst opening the image.

Thanks for making my day a little brighter instead, those are lovely (and ferocious) little huntresses!

I’m sorry for your losses. Last month I escorted my 14+ yo best buddy across the bridge due to CKD (he lasted years longer than expected!) and lost a just over month old kitten who failed to thrive on the same day.

That shit is rough. Especially when it comes in rapid-fire.

I'm so sorry for your losses, but glad I could brighten your day a little. I hope you're both getting the support you need to process things.

I would love to foster some kitties myself one day, but knowing myself I could never let them go after rearing them. Glad there's people like you who can, though!

Funny thing, I actually started fostering with the intention of "failing". I had 1 cat that I had adopted as a kitten, and he used to play with my roommate's cat, but then we moved and I wasn't sure if my cat missed having a buddy around, so I decided to give fostering a shot as a way to test it out.

One of the things that helps me say goodbye is knowing that I can't take in new fosters if the current ones stay with me. I also get to meet all of the potential adopters, and most of them send me updates on the kittens as they get settled in, so I feel good knowing they're in good homes.

So who's the troublemaker here? Or bigger troublemaker given that all kittens are a handful. My money's on the orange.

Hahaha yes! Orange is definitely the trouble maker! He's always been the first one to figure out how to climb/jump to new places, and he's had scabs on his nose/whisker pads for the past few weeks because he just keeps getting scraped up.

It's weird but you can totally tell just from the two pictures!
