Estimations were calculated through interviews with agents, lawyers, managers, executives and industry experts, as well as data sources such as IMDBPro and Polestar. The figures represent pretax earnings for the calendar year 2024, minus fees for representation – 10% to agents, 10% to managers and 5% to lawyers, per industry standard, although some actors do not have all three.

Actors were credited for all compensation on projects in the year they were released, despite the fact that often up front fees are paid when a movie is filmed, which could be years in the past, and back-end participation or buyouts are often paid several years into the future.

Additionally, the ranking only includes earnings related to entertainment—acting, producing, directing, or other forms of performance (such as stand-up comedy). Entrepreneurial endeavors not related to entertainment, such as joint ventures, licensing, commercials or social media partnerships, were not counted.

God I hate that Dwayne Johnson is at the top.

He's not an actor and getting paid the most.

I actively avoid anything he's part of.

Imagine the production cost for Red Notice 2021

I don't like the title says highest paid. This is list is more about most prolific or residuals from popular. Highest paid would be largest amount per day of commitement.

Not sure that The Rock is worth that kind of money. I guess those annoying commercials Kevin Hart does pay well.

It's amazing to me that Jerry Seinfeld is on this list despite only having a single terrible imdb accreditation in 2024. The Seinfeld series really is a cash cow I guess.

He and Mariska Hargitay (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) are are the only tv actors on the list, the latter one suprises me even more.

I'd imagine the Friends cast barely missed this list? Because i was under the impression that they also pocket close to like $20m/year from residuals.

Unfrosted seems like the kind of movie to overpay for his writing/acting. Also I see a couple of cameos in some live shows, so he probably got paid for those as well.

Wow Ryan Gosling is not even in the list.

Huh 10 times better in acting than Rock Johnson

I wonder what proportion of Ryan Reynolds's income is from Mint Mobile

So presumably that isn't included here, unless he pays himself for advertisements?

I'm pretty sure they at some point said they do t? Or something like that's part of how they keep it cheap is not paying for an a list actor to advertise.

Crazy that not a single one of them were tied to anything in the awards circuit

[–] Skyrmir 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Half of the income on that list is just actors knowing to invest their money rather than blow it all.

No major awards, but Gladiator 2 (Denzel W.) was nominated for Costume Design at the Oscars and Nicole K. (Babygirl) received an acting nomination at the Golden Globes.
