  3. Any excuse works for the connection between the songs (see examples below) but put your reasoning in the post body

MODERATORS

As expected, me, as a single mod, requires some help. I'll keep this post pinned and update it when needed. At the moment, what the community needs (except for more active users) is:

  1. Another mod, even if there is not a lot of work to do, I'd still be happy if we can have redundancy.
  2. Design for the community logo and banner.
  3. A bot to update the sidebar - this is something I can do myself, only it will take me sometime to get there.

I'm not a professional designer per se, but before I dropped out of college I was going for graphic design XD so I put together some quick ideas, if you're still looking for a logo

I haven't coded a bot for lemmy yet, but have done quite a few for Reddit. If you can give me info about what you're looking for, I can let you know how likely I would be to be able to achieve it in the near term

Depending on exactly what's needed, I may be able to help mod. I have absolutely no design skills so I wouldn't be any good for #2, and can barely code my way out of a paper bag, so #3 is pretty much out, too.

Hi.

1 is the most urgent one, as I'm going on vacation tomorrow, and I don't know how available I'll be. I'm adding you as mod.

3 if you want to learn to code, that's a good opportunity 😁 I'll handle that later.

2 is the mostly problematic. I'll try to do something, but like you, I have no design skills.

LOL okay, I'll start trying to figure shit out so you can go and enjoy your vacation!

It's fairly simple: as long as no one is posting some toxic shit (didn't happen so far) - you don't have to do much; if you don't see any connection between songs, ask the poster to clarify.

That's pretty much it.

I'm still fairly new to Lemmy, so I don't think I'm suitable to be a moderator just yet..

But this community reminds me of my old Reddit community /r/lostnotes.

I'm out of town and busy today, but if you'd like, you're welcome to dig through my old sub and post the links here.

Hi, I'm probably as new to Lemmy as you, but the whole idea of modding is making sense. Especially in this community where the rules are really clear "post songs and don't be an asshole" so far, except for that Dolly Parton incident there wasn't any problem.

If you don't feel like it, don't worry. If so, I'll just make you a mod and lurk in the background. ...

I've looked through /r/lostnotes it's not exactly what /c/connectasong is about, but it is close enough :-)

Nah, sorry, I'll have to pass on being a moderator, I'm rarely on my computer these days, and when I am I'm usually tinkering around with emulating and modding legacy operating systems.
