I have only seen Spanish critics (and my gf watched this movie as a background noise just for curiosity), and yeah, it is wild to me that this movie has that many nominations...
The huevocartoon memes are funny though.
I wonder what the opinion of English speaking people is...
I'm bilingualish and I thought it was very amateurish. I kept asking my wife if the singing was supposed to be bad to make it more "authentic". Selena Gomez was especially disappointing because we know her acting, singing, and Spanish are better than that.
Transition is not a fucking get out of jail card. There is no "Sorry I killed your family but I was really dysphoric then. Good news I am not that person anymore!" isn't gonna fucking fly.
To speak nothing of reducing the trans experience to "The Surgery". The whole movie is just flat out calls itself representation, but it's only exploitation to bait out awards.
Hell, I'm asking for a refund and I didn't even go see it.
