I'm laughing at how the promo art depicts this as a perfect wireless device, with no power or HDMI or anything.

The manufacturers clearly realised if the promo art showed reality, it would be immediately obvious why nobody wants to use a mini-PC as a thick-ass touchpad, with a bunch of cables and junk dragging all over your desk.

They don't show it because the weight of the HDMI cable tilts the whole thing upward

So you can write a program that makes it moan when touched

If you have a multitouch trackpad, you can have one flat object that can moan when touched, given appropriate software.

If you have a pair of Valve's Index finger-tracking controllers, you can have any object moan when touched, given appropriate software.

Crazy hypothetical... Even a toilet?

[–] Arbiter 1 points 8 hours ago

Especially a toilet.

I am glad no one has done that for laptops so far.

That I know of.

Though now that you mention it, that’s a good use for the IBM trackpoint.

Someone already did it, and it's pressure sensitive. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Compile with gcc -o mouse_tracker_2 mouse_tracker_2.c -lwinmm -lgdi32 iirc.
