I'm pretty sure he doesn't care. I'm also pretty sure there's someone going to profit from this big time and that's who's pushing for it.
I think he's going to funnel all the tariffs to himself and friends then back off before the peasants come knocking at the door.
The plan is for massive tariffs to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. He doesn't care who pays the tariffs.

This is wishful thinking. Orangic and free range will be outlawed for being too woke. All foods will be sprayed with DDT before being sold to customers just in case.

With lazy headlines like this, it's no wonder the average person thinks he's talking sense. The tariffs will be on imports into the US from these countries. The tariffs will be paid by the importers.
And added to the price so the importers make the same profit. We are people are going to be paying a 25% tax on everything we buy from 2 of our biggest trading partners. And a 20% "because we can, fuck you" increase on domestic products.
All they had to do was add the word "goods" and they would have been good.
When he didn't add Chinese tariffs immediately my guess was they were who helped the trump coin jump in price. There has got to be a payment to him somewhere
Mexico will pay for it all, just like they paid for that impassible wall.
