Back in the mid 90’s I worked on developing an internet search engine long before Google existed. One of the tasks I worked on was a porn filter. Our first attempt failed miserably when we tried filtering on XXX and suddenly everything from Super Bowl 30 to all manner of other content with Roman numerals got flagged…

This reminds me of just how clueless we were way back then…

Didn’t you hear? It’s all Biden’s fault that Trump is being forced to do this. That’s good enough for them.

Every American should file for a refund of all the SS taxes they paid when they do their income taxes next year. With the gutting of the IRS on top of SS, they’ll probably accept those claims without question and accept those refunds.

Trump just has to say it’s all the fault of the radical corrupt left, led by Obama’s tan suit and Hillary’s emails colluding in the basement of that Pizza place in DC, and the MAGAts will blindly accept it as undeniable gospel.

I recently attended a talk by Admiral James Stavridis, who among other thing was the 16th NATO Supreme Allied Commander. He feels the EU will be able to defend itself if the US abandons NATO, etc. Between the manpower the European members has to draw on, their existing defense & manufacturing industries, their shared mistrust of Putin, etc. they have a lot going for them.

Insane that it’s based on a true story.

Could have been something like a leak in the exhaust of a gas furnace etc as well.

Won’t help with all the SLBM’s (submarine launched) and B-52 launched nuclear weapons that we have…

Same. I’m definitely one-and-done with my Tesla, but I should be able to get another good 5+ years out of it before I get rid of it.

Exactly. I have a friend undergoing treatment for lymphoma. Part of the bone marrow replacement process is to completely suppress the immune system. She isolated just like so many did during covid, and once this treatment is complete she’ll need to start re-taking all the various vaccines again so that her immune system re-learns from them.

My wife borrows a lot of ebooks from our library, which are delivered to a kindle through Amazon. I’ve used this USB download option to remove the DRM from some of those borrowed books. Guess I’ll have to figure out a new approach now…

Return-to-office (RTO) mandates have caused companies to lose some of their best workers, a study tracking over 3 million workers at 54 "high-tech and financial" firms at the S&P 500 index has found. These companies also have greater challenges finding new talent, the report concluded.

Tesla just released a SiriusXM streaming app for the Model 3, Y, and Cybertruck. I’m a longtime SiriusXmM subscriber, and actually have a free streaming account with them. Ever since I got my MY I’ve listened via their streaming app on my phone & Bluetooth.

Not only will my current streaming account not transfer to the Tesla app, but I also can’t activate an old existing account with it either. In fact I can’t even add the Tesla streaming account to my existing SiriusXM account. They want me to create a new account on SiriusXM with a different email address just for the Tesla app. The fact that I’d have to create and manage a second account is downright absurd. Whoever approved that asinine decision at SiriusXM should be fired…

I guess I’ll just keep streaming their stuff through my iPhone…

This just popped into my head after a similar question came up with a coworker…

Back a few decades ago I worked in Kendall Square in Cambridge, MA. My office window looked out towards another building about 15 feet away, and for some reason our floors were about 8 feet higher than the other building. So we could look down into the offices across the way.

The person in the office I could see into had his desk set up so that his back was to the window and he faced his office door. This gave me and my coworkers a clear view of his computer screen over his shoulder. He played Microsoft solitaire constantly, except when somebody walked in. He would very quickly close it so he wouldn’t get caught.

My coworkers and I actually tried to figure out his phone number, but never did. We wanted to call him up and tell him he should have played the red 9 on the black 10…
