I'm British and I don't even get it. I do know that a few years back, a bunch of supermarkets were trying to sue each other over caterpillar cakes.
I'm also British. Never heard of this.
And we buy that at Xmas do we?
Those are for kids birthday partys.
Maybe they slap a festive Xmas hat on it? Can't say I've ever got one
I thought the slapped knee was a universal sign of a readiness for departure.
Utter rubbish! I have never Morris danced!
The first thing is that they buy a lot of caterpillar cakes, especially around Christmas time.
First I've heard of this, but it wouldn't surprise me
The second thing is that they eat some of the most creative sandwiches, such as chip butties and pot noodle sandwiches.
Chip butties are amazing. Some pubs back in the day used to serve chip barms for free.
The third thing is that they call strangers pet names, such as love and sweetheart.
Regional, but I think it's dying off as some people take offence at it.
The fourth thing is that they do Morris dancing.
Only every other Sunday
The fifth thing is that they take their shirts off as soon as the sun comes out.

The sixth thing is that they slap their knees when they are ready to leave.

The eighth thing is that they bring in treats to work on their birthday.
Yes. At first I thought it was bonkers because normally you receive gifts on your birthday, not give them out for everyone else! But it would get costly and fatty if everyone brought cakes in for one persons birthday.
The ninth thing is that they say goodbye a lot of times.
"Alright mate, cheers, yep... cheers mate, see ya, yeah have a good day now, cheers mate, bye, bye"

I mean... it's more true than not. I might not personally do all these things, but those I don't, I've seen done by others.
I'm number 2, I will put anything in a Piece (Sandwich) Also in a roll, Sausage roll in a roll with brown sauce anyone.
