General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in [email protected] or [email protected]
More serious politics should go in [email protected].

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Can't tell if this guy's finally lost it or I just have a very different sense of humor from him

He is looking for that rush of purchasing the highest office in the country and nothing is scratching the itch anymore.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago

He never had it

On one hand, fuck that fucking assclown.

On the other hand, my god that would be one hell of a comeback in historical terms: former colony invades and ~~colonizes~~ liberates former rulers

Surely there's only troll bots and right wing psychopaths left on twitter? I'm surprised it's not 100% yes

Elon Musk clearly needs mental health support.

Hell of late he is making trump see, sane and well-thought-out.

US here, we need to worry about our own government right now, and many of us wish Musk would drive his own Cyber truck to test dummy it's 'features' personally. As a US citizen I am sorry the oligarchy is a pain for you as well.

It'll be worse for you guys though. Trade sanctions cut both ways and the thing is the UK has the rest of the world to trade from, but the US will impose sanctions on everyone and shoot themselves in the foot.

I can't believe Elon musk managed to destroy twitter so much they lead to four separate twitter's for each political quadrant!

Twitter for the right, Twitter for the left, Twitter for the libertarian, Twitter for Linux users

[–] SirQuackTheDuck 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

It's twitter for the right, Lemmy for the left, bluesky for the libertarians and Linux users have joined either us, or gone back to trusty bulletin boards

Source: no idea

They're welcome to Luton, to be honest.

If he sees Bradford he'll probably have an aneurysm.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Oi! That's the UK City of Culture 2025 you're talking about!

"Even reading the local newspaper, some of the headlines can be very upbeat, and beneath it are just loads of comments that, 'This is a disaster, it'll just never work, Bradford is doomed'."

You should've voted yes. It'll get X banned faster in Europe.

If in the next decade Ruzzia and America form an AXIS like alliance to take over more territory I won’t be surprised.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

Yawn been there, done that. Let's set our sights to the future of America, not on assimilating the losers.

Can we turn all the lights off and pretend nobody's home when they come knocking? We'll definitely hear them coming.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 days ago

Right, because his tyranny will be so much better for us! 🙄

Black and viscous - bound to cure blue lethargy
Sugar-plum petroleum for energy

Oh, please believe

Maybe willingly telling the guy steamrolling towards the 1984 timeline exactly who is against him isn't the best idea?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago

Nah, you are OK, thanks.
