Weird, in all of his actions I haven't seen anything along the lines of redistributing wealth from those who have too much to those who have too little.
It looks just like those who have too little have to do with even less.

Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

Yeah, it's worse than they thought dude. This is not shock born of pride; the gritted teeth are stopping folks from screaming.
If you just ignore all the actual people who are suffering, then it's a wild success!
Interesting how this article starts out making everything sound bright and cheery but the further you read on, the worse everything sounds.
What do you call 'burying the lede' when the lede is a large portion of the article? That seems inadequate.

I'm just not sure why the AP is doing it. They haven't seemed especially pro-Milei before this. Maybe because Trump is coming in to office and they want to suck up to the new guy in charge?
Looking through their few stories of the crisis in Argentina, AP plays it very "safe" and "objective". They parrot what Milei's government says, often at the top of the article. Then they put the stories of those affected most at the bottom, leaning on bootstrap stories most. These are less likely to get eyeballs and that is widely known. It is pretty standard reporting from them.
I swear there was an article earlier this week where the headline was about how things were getting better in Argentina but then in the article it said that poverty had risen to over 50%.
Poverty increases to 50% is not good if you are the poor, but it is really good for some especially the target market for the article.
Inflation, Argentina’s perpetual scourge and Milei’s top priority upon coming to office, slowed from a monthly rate of 25.5% in December 2023 to just 2.7% in October — its lowest level in three years.
Why is Argentina's inflation measured monthly when the annual figure is the usual standard? Several outlets have reported this figure for almost a month now and I'm starting to wonder if this is just a case of reporters printing what the politicians say verbatim, or intentionally trying to mislead. Looking at the 5 year chart on that link doesn't make it look like Milei has improved things, that's for sure.
I guess it's the era of idiot white despots with atrocious hair.
