Just by playing 9chal. I won it only once when I got extremely lucky with item drops, but I've been trying to get a win again and get better. I personally don't find experimenting with builds in 0chal fun anymore, as it's so easy that everything feels pointless. But learning how to survive 9chal runs and getting more consistent at it is plenty interesting.

Sister Communities:
Best time i had with the game was chasing that first 9 challenge win.
I like to bounce back and forth between different games. I find that I enjoy a game more when I’m coming back to it and rediscovering things as well as discovering new things that have been added or changed!
I have a number of different roguelikes that I love and enjoy bouncing around between, including SPD!
I say: this time will be different, I won't gamble this time. Play it cool.
Then I don't
I enjoy setting equipment limits. For example, I almost never get an Ankh any more. I had a blast with my tier-1, tier-2 and tier-3 runs. These are challenging in a different way than the "official" game challenges, but of course they can be combined for additional fun.
