He didn't reverse shit. His coup failed. Now he should go to prison where insurrectionists belong... unless you're in the US anyway.

If he is reelected, then SK Is at least as bad as the US. If they don't,then they're a way better country

Presidents in Korea can serve only one, five-year term, so I guess we'll never know!

Why is it that almost everyone's comment makes this about the USA in one way or another? And in general, why do people always try to make everything about that country.

You'd think they were the centre of the world, with the way people go on.

I mean, we're in an English post, and the US is the 3rd most populated country in the world. Looking at Wikipedia, the next country after the US that has a majority of its citizens with English as a first language is the UK with about 1/3 of the population as the US. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_English-speaking_population

Not to mention, crazy things that happen to the US can affect other countries as well. Especially negative things would have an affect on other countries. The US is the country with the highest GDP in the world, and if we get a recession, with our globally connected world, others feel it as well. The reverse is also true but dependent on the countries relation to the US. China, being a high GDP country with strong trade and financial ties to the US could also cause huge problems to the US should it encounter a recession.

It's probably just where the commenters live. It's all too easy to see the world through the lens of your own experiences, for better or for worse.

Just a little authoritarian oopsie-doodle, no big deal.

Difference is they have a "Park Geun-hye" situation while we have a "Nixon" situation.

"South Korea as a nation dodged a bullet, but President Yoon may have shot himself in the foot," said Danny Russel, vice president of the Asia Society Policy Institute think tank in the United States.

I bet my man Danny came up with that line in the shower. I dig it.

Only because lawmakers literally broke into parliament to have the vote since the military was complicit with Yoon into not letting them in.

If 190 didn't have the balls to break into parliament, there would have been a quick downward spiral of military lead authoritarianism.

The military was in on this. All other lawmakers said they were not aware of this and the tanks rolled in minutes after the order which means they were prepared for the announcement in secret. ...and he will try again... My guess is when he is impeached for this coup attempt.

However next time they won't let them in the building as easily since that was the key to stopping it.

They better impeach him quick because Trump probably has a raging boner for this guy now

[–] [email protected] 6 points 20 hours ago

He will be impeached within 3 days which is the fastest legal schedule, that is if he doesn’t resign (very possible)
