I played at launch and the game was a slog, took forever to get resources and materials to progress the build tree. Did they change the pacing since then? I really want to like the game.

+1000 to this... I genuinely enjoyed the game, but it needed to be about 10x faster to progress. That being said, I believe you had a fair amount of control over those settings? I was just playing on a default server

Do what the other comment said and resources stop being a problem. I'd just teleport to my ore base, check the feeders, empty the ore my ~~slaves~~ pals collected, and head back. I had the chest next to the teleport location in both bases.

Gotta leverage all those ~~slaves~~ pals you collected.

Oh, I was playing on a local solo mission, I didn't realize they were adjustable. This might be on me.

You can even adjust them after you've started a save

I set up some extra bases to collect certain resources. Then moved my main base from the starting area. Both things helped speed up resources.
