MODERATORS

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/35555

A fellow mod informed me that about it as I was laying in bed. Reddit sent a message to the mod team and after 1 hour demoded me. I didn't even had time to see it, never-mind respond to it.

Looks like we rattled reddit enough to start shooting. There goes all that fancy talk about our protest not affecting them much.

Just FYI for now. It's late here so I'll see how we proceed tomorrow.

can other mods reappoint you?

You should reopen privacy but a la /r/pics and only allow posts about laptop privacy screens and laptop privacy screen reviews and top 10 laptop privacy screens etc. for some malicious compliance.

Just letting you know the sub there is about the high seas of the internet, piracy. Although, when you sail the sea, you want to indeed have the privacy for your crew.

Har har my friend, here have some rum.

Edit: allowing only privacy topics would still be really funny on that sub, specially with a pirate flag attached to those pics.

Make solely about actual nautical piracy.

Should be all about VPNs. Which VPNs are good, which are bad, screenshots of which ads you've seen lately.

It should be only images of Pirates. Blackbeard, Redbeard, Morgan etc

I can get with that!

You should consider posting that screenshot around the bigger subs that are still resisting. Ask them to repost it as well. Don't go quietly, let the whole site see what lengths the admins are going to for the illusion that everything is fine.

No offense, this is a great site, but the word isn't going to get out from here.

I think partially it's a good thing that the growth slowed down. You don't want overworked mods and admins. You're not paying with your data here, that's something you should always be aware of.

Question for us refugees is: do we care enough to fill up these scab Reddit subs with spam and shit, or just let it be?

I'm partial to the idea kf creating chaos, but at the end I don't think I can give a shit. It's just another corporate social network now.

I do hope tho that mods of the closed subs nuke all the content (e.g. mark as cp/spam/something) before they get fired.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Reddit has been undeleting posts and comments, so that's probably not going to work.

[–] WhoRoger 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Sure but if everything is marked as cp/spam, then they'll need to be careful with undeleting. Especially if at the same time, people post exactly the kind of prohibited material.

I'm all for civil disobedience, but there's a fine line between refusing to comply and intentionally doing harm. Reopening a sub and only allowing posts of something silly? That's chill, Reopening a sub and intentionally posting illegal and disturbing content? Just ask yourself, how would an impartial jury evaluate your actions, and go from there.

[–] WhoRoger 1 points 1 year ago

Anything I'd do, I'd be fucked in front of an impartial jury, because the vast majority of people are bootlicking idiots that believe they can cast judgment upon others, jury or not.

just delete your account and let it die on its own, like the Metaverse. Remember that? Yeah, like 3 people used it.

Arr, me hearties, I be sorry to hear that ye've been demoted by the landlubber admins in the Reddit Royal Navy, aye!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Glad to have you here!
