Basically what the title says. Sometimes something is removed, rightly or wrongly, but its removal diminishes the comments below it. The capability is already in Lemmy and it would be nice to see if one chooses to, but I can accept that the feature could promote toxic behavior.

That was previously available in Voyager. Removed or deleted comments could be tapped to show the comment. I really liked that feature as it provided context not only in reference to the thread, but also as to how particular mod/mods worked in the community.

I would love this to be restored

This feature never existed in Voyager. It's intentionally not implemented to avoid issues with the app being in the Google/Apple stores. Although might be able to add a feature to enable this after a disclaimer, it needs thoughtful implementation.

Curious, can you clarify the play store consideration?

Bullying/harassment, calls for violence, etc can get an app removed if the content is not removed. By its very nature, mod logs aren't removed. Obviously for mods this is needed, and Voyager exposes for those limited users in order to moderate. But it is not really necessary for regular users. So it needs to be implemented carefully to avoid the app being removed from stores.

Interesting. I understand the balance you walk.

Edit I'd prefer complete transparency, and therefore an off-store deployment, but it isn't my app. Big fan of voyager don't get me wrong.

Yes it's definitely possible to expose in a more obvious manner for the F-Droid and web builds, just hasn't been done yet!
