Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Leonard Leo, the head of the Federalist Society, and the reason why the US Judiciary is full of half trained jackasses who put ideology ahead of the actual law. He worked with Bush and Trump to place Federalist Society judges throughout America. Especially the Supreme Court.
All three of Trump's picks were actually Leo's picks.

He also funds lawsuits against laws he doesn't like, and routes them through courts where he knows the judges, to appeals circuits where with judges he helped appoint, to the supreme court where 6 members owe him loyalty. (he also constantly bribes them)

Three of the cases heard by the court this last term were funded by Leo, including the gay wedding website case, where there was never a gay wedding. It was all made up. The "plaintiff" was actually a straight man, who was already married.

This is why elections matter

You may think trump is edgy, sticks it to the libs, and tells it like it is, but this guy is spending every minute of every day building a country to grind you into dust, and he's not on your side

The world would be a better place without these assholes slithering around. They are like sewer rats wading in shit just under our feet waiting for an opportunity to invade our homes to spread their filth and disease. I am astounded everyday how a few extremists manage to sway and influence a decent portion of normal people to the brink of committing atrocities. This is a world wide problem and not just US centric, though the ~30% of US voters who eat up that stuff scare the crap out of me.

First, Leo is right to be scared. Anyone who subverts democracy so flagrantly is going to anger people. Angry people can get violent.

Second, why they hell haven't democracy-loving Americans stomped Leo into exile?

Wait this guys parents named him Leo Leo? Reminds me of this guy I knew named Robert Roberts. We called him Bob Bob.

See also Bob Roberts and, for a darker example, the palindromic Nazi Revilo P. Oliver.

I went to high school with a dude named Ling Ling. Apparently it means perfection, or something along those lines?

I went to school with a Duwayne Duwayne.

We had a Eugene Eugenes that buddies around with a Mathew Mathews. They were not invited to the cool kid parties. Neither was I but they weren't too.

[–] canthidium 1 points 1 year ago

Jesus, what is going on in this world. Do these parents hate their kids?

[–] canthidium 2 points 1 year ago

Oh wow, that's even worse.

Wait, he’s real?!

[–] YoBuckStopsHere 1 points 1 year ago

Sounds like justification to me.
