I love Lemmy so far, but the constant refresh of the feed in the homepage is unbearable.

I constantly click on the wrong links, get warnings from my browser that the website uses too much energy, the console is a constant flow of logs.

I thought it was a bug that would be rapidly fixed, but I'm beginning to fear it might actually be a (really bad) feature.

Please tell me a fix is coming, or there is a way to change that.

It's being addressed, but for now just subscribe to the communities you want to see and change the post settings from "all" to "subscribed." No auto refresh.

Is this a lemmy.world only issue?

[–] Zoroastyyr 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

No, it’s being tracked on the Lemmy GitHub though (:

I see, just made an account here and noticed it instantly, but I never noticed it in my previous account from another instance.

Thanks, I guess this is the best way for now

Frontpage is essentially c/all, right?

This is fixed in the 0.18 release (the next release I believe) which removes live updates.

I saw another post on this somewhere. Apparently its a known bug and a fix is coming. I also have this problem

Yeah this is horrible. I usually scroll directly to the bottom of the page and press next. And on the next page you don’t have this problem. I also recently switched to the Mlem app and the app doesn’t have that problem . But it’s not perfect either, so depending on my mood I go to Kelly on the browser or via the app.

This isn't a problem on jerboa if you have android. I think there's an iphone app as well.
