Well, they scuttled it with zero marketing. Now that I'm aware of it, I'll probably enjoy the season since it's made by some great talent.

It's a crime that a steaming pile of shit like Garfield gets what seems like infinitely more marketing than this.

I am very wary now of starting a new show knowing full well that as great as it might be I may never see the conclusion.

You’d think it would matter to them to have reliable endings to shows so people aren’t hesitant to watch and subscribe.

I guess I’m in the minority on this.

That'd require them to have a plan beyond next quarter's profits

Fallout didn't really get any marketing either (at least not in my neck of the woods). But it stood and delivered purely on merit.

It's one of the biggest game franchise in the world, the marketing is already done for it...

Yeah but it sucked

I've seen the trailer and it looks awful! I'm not surprised they're hiding that from the general public. It's another one of those generic action comedies where not a single joke is gonna land unless you're 10

And what if I'm 10? I'm ten four times, which makes me extra ten.

This is why many people wait until season 2 to start a show. I hate wasting my time on neverending stories.

The article doesn’t mention it, but there was a big kerfuffle after Charlyne Yi (the actor who played Judy) spoke out about being abused and assaulted on set.

That’s why the character basically disappears half way through the season.

Keep an eye on that Kal-el Tuck kid though. The last time I was that delighted by a kid actor on television was Elliot Page in Regenesis.

Oh yeah I completely forgot that she never came back.

I was like "oh they're clearly setting up something here", but apparently not.

Keep an eye on that Kal-el Tuck kid though

I agree. Fun name too.

Ah I figured it was a setup for season 2, but this makes a whole lot more sense since they didn't even show her in the later episodes.

I figured it was a setup for the finale or something, but that earlier comment just made me realise it never came, and now that season 2 is cancelled anyway? Bittelig will stay lonely, I feel like. :(

Wow. The first few episodes were fantastic. Seems short sighted

I just refuse to pick up new streaming services at this point. Apple has a few shows I'd love but I'm not about to trust any of the new players right now, especially when I'm still trying to shed current ones.

And this is part of why. They're fumbling for a reason to exist rather than attracting an audience with quality content that they are committed to.

Full disclosure: I have not watched the original Time Bandits movie from the 80s. However, I watched the first episode of this series and it felt like the showrunners were trying to duplicate the “zany” feeling of 80s comedies and missing the mark terribly.

I get the sense that a lot of this is due to nostalgia for films based on childhood memories rather than any clear sense of cinema quality.
