I’ve had a rough week. Managing mental health is tough. Missing a friend I haven’t really spoken to since we had an argument a few months ago. Boss was a complete jerk a couple of days ago. Just keep swimming, I suppose. What’s up with all of you?

Man, not sure what's the situation but go make peace when you can,

Thanks for the kind words! I’ve tried but it hasn’t gone well so I’m kinda scared of touching the hot pan again.

I get nervous by just doing something minor that will involve my boss. Don't let them get to you, you deserve respect. I hope things go your way soon. Remember to find something you enjoy this weekend.

Also well done creating the Free Talk Thread! I completely forget about these weekly threads that were created by bots.

Thank you, my dog definitely helps with taking my mind off things.

Of course! I can create the free talk thread every Friday until we have a bot.

cheers man, between the lot of us we can probably make this place decently lively. If only I could wake up to get the dailies up first XD but timezones are timezones after all.

Managing mental health can be really difficult. It is a fine balance. Somedays you feel on top of the world and that you've overcome the stuff plaguing you. Only for you to feel utterly alone and the world is falling apart around you the next (at least from my experience). It's a tough gig!

Look after yourself though. Hopefully things can be mended between you and your mate.

Like @[email protected] said, try doing something you enjoy. It can be tough to find the motivation to start, though. By God can that be the hardest part... also try surround yourself with other friends and loved ones if at all possible.

But, above all else try take care of yourself :) (this is probably very hypocritical of me xD)

That’s so kind, thank you! You described the ups and downs amazingly well. And sometimes the downturn starts because you start thinking about how the good mood is short-lived and surely it’ll go back to shit soon.

Also about the hypocrisy, yes I’ve found it easier to help others than to help myself with taking care. A cool piece of advice I heard was to talk to myself like I would to a beloved friend. It helps sometimes.

Starting a side gig with an organization and already finding communication there shockingly slow... It's in healthcare where prompt replies are necessary as well smh

[–] throbbingpens 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh yikes, that’s difficult! Is there anyone in the other organisations you can speak to about it?

[–] MHPengwingz 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm actually directly reporting to their director, but the fact it takes like four or five emails from her and I just to find out where I need to be picking up supplies so I can actually start working is kind of unacceptable. I would use my own hardware but patient info so I have to use their stuff. I'm hoping the small group I'll be working with is actually more on top of things. It's a side gig but I'm hoping to try it out at least I can get some experience to leave my full time job.

[–] throbbingpens 2 points 1 year ago

You’re right that is unacceptable. I hope it works out better with the actual working group. All the best for your new side gig!

As a side note, wonder if we could get some other threads like this which are like weekly lol, maybe like a Women's Wednesday or smth

He's pretty reliant on his pace, he's still crazy fast, but he's 33 and should slow down soon. Having said that, Jesus Navas is 37 and rapid as fuck, so maybe he's also a genetic freak who'll carry on for ages!
