MODERATORS

Hello,

I been working on this website/app these last few years, basically trying to show that there are a lot of very hard working people trying to make the world a better place and the news you choose to focus on has a big impact on your mood/life so try to not get too absorbed into the negative sensationalized media. My website/app offers an alternative way to stay informed. Would love to hear feedback on potential improvements.

Sincerely, Happy Daze

It's nice but the images for the post are way too large(around 11MB per image?). It's not only bad for the bandwidth, since judging by the image load speed you're not using CDN, but it's also bad for the user experience: takes too much time to load, metered connection users will suffer...etc

edit: didn't know it was an old post but I hope this input helps you!

You could open a Lemmy community to post there too.

This please! I avoid my rss reader when I want uplifting news...

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

I will look into that!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago

Well there's already an uplifting news community.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Nice! Maybe add a button to the RSS feed. Saves a few clicks ;)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

Good idea! Happydaze.io/rss is the rss link a button on the main site would be nice.

Does it have an RSS feed? I'd love to have it in my regular news app.

Either way, very cool. Good job!

What days is it available?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

I try to post three times a week its not super consistent on which day of the week it ends up being, working towards posting once a day but im also limited by the pace of research and science etc..

I'm a big fan of SunnySkyz and always wanted a similar site that was specifically for science news, so thank you for making this!! 😃

Great. More miracle cures and “breakthroughs” that we’ll never see.

Science is slow, but I think you might be surprised some of these studies are really promising and pretty far along. For example we are finally seeing products with solid state batteries hit the market, graphene is being produced at a much more efficient rate, 3d printing and advanced material engineering is taking a leap and not to mention ai. The world is bright and brimming full of people trying their best to create a better future.
