For example my keys jingling in my pocket, my jacket sleeve moving against my torso, and to a lesser extent my footsteps make me anxious. I'm curious does anyone else experiences this?

I'm not sure if it's anxiety or something grander. Wearing noise cancelling headphones helps though.

I kind of feel like the noise version of a Nightkin.

You're born to be an assassin

A thief is an option and it should be a little less stabby.

Yes, but my parents would beat us if we made enough noise to wake them up... I learned to walk on eggshells from my first steps, so making any noise, even breathing, gives me anxiety.

You too? My dad didn't give a shit, but my mom could hear everything in any state of sleep.

It taught me to be super quiet as well and it's a skill that I still know to this day. The anxiety started to fade once I learned this was a super power.

Here from /all. I don't think I have anxiety about it, but I'm more conscious of my noise than most people around me seem to be. I modify my gait based on my shoes so that I make quieter footfalls. I try to keep keys and things from rattling and avoid excessive "junk" on my keyring. I HATE swishy exercise pants or courdoroy because of the noise.

Maybe I DO have anxiety about it? I don't think anyone cares about my noise except me.

I believe this is an autistic trait

It seems like I've got a few of them.

Does it help to have sound going, like a fan or music?

A bit. Loud environments do cover the sound but any lulls in the noise bring it back
