I loved both of these franchises, but it seems like they need to keep churning them out until the franchise as a whole leaves a bad taste in the audience's mouth and ruin the original legacy
But why?
Money
Because original ideas are scary and you need more writers to pay for good stuff to pop up.
It's just further invalidating the lessons of #3 though

Three seemed to be the magic number. Four was ok, but it wasn't really needed.
Or stop and write an original story again.
for a fraction of a second I thought they were doing a wall-e sequel. we are still ok, for now.
