/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

Fun will now commence.

My cat will steal my chair the moment I stand up sometimes. Almost sat on him a couple times because of it.

That residual body heat is prime real-estate.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

If you’re not there it’s free real estate and goes down in value fast as it cools. The cats know wats up.

Same here! Mine has learned to meow indignantly if I'm about to sit on him, he won't move of course... But he let's me know he's there.

The TAS tribble episode is secretly the best tribble episode.

[–] ummthatguy 7 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

That's a tight match with Trials and Tribble-ations, but to each their own.

[–] aeronmelon 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

The DS9 episode is just the TOS episode from another perspective. Yes, it's fun and technically brilliant in its own right. But apart from the outbreak on the station meant as a gag, there's nothing new regarding tribbles.

Totally fair, not to mention, I've yet to put myself through TAS. Keep hearing "It's worth it, but..." So, I gotta set aside some vacation time, call my connect, get some beer/Scotch, and tackle this thing.

It's worth it. Full stop.

The original cast voices, stories written by science fiction giants of the time. You will quickly learn to accept and laugh at the stilted animation and just enjoy the Original Series-levels of absurdity.

I'm pretty sure you're going to see it as a net positive.

If I'm willing to watch this:

and this:

Then surely, I'll make it through.

[–] aeronmelon 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Point taken, but don't mistaken TAS for a parody, or even something like Lower Decks. It's further episodes of The Original Series that they weren't allowed the money to do in live action.

(I gotta finally sit down and watch all of Harvey Birdman.)

I expected as much, which is fine, 'cause TOS is brilliant. It's just that I associate the style with that block in time when I also smoked like a chimney.

Worf is just jealous their theme song isn't as catchy.

He's clearly not a merry man.

It’s shit like this that just keeps me coming back.

More like a cougar settling into a hunting spot and waiting for their prey

I was probably 12 when I first saw the Vash episodes of TNG and I have to admit, she made me feel things .

[–] SirSamuel 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I cannot believe Patrick Stewart stepped out on her

[–] ummthatguy 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

He's a tough nut to crack, but can't say he traded down in Insurrection.

[–] SirSamuel 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

While Donna Murphy is indeed a beautiful woman, i didn't think she and Patrick Stewart had a thing off-screen. Stewart was dating Hetrick when this episode was recorded. However, from what I remember he was not faithful and their relationship didn't last

[–] ummthatguy 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Chalk that up to me associating Stewart with Picard. Doesn't speak well for the man, but then...

[–] SirSamuel 4 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah when I learned it I was very

That's a cow, not a cat!

No, reallyVache (Vash) is French for cow, and Picard is French.

[–] ummthatguy 6 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Edit: those are some high standards if she's a cow. s/
