I'm currently redownloading this on my dialup speed internet to give it another try. Last time I only got to the first actual mission, but by then I was so worn out waiting to play for three hours while cutscenes played I gave up.
Don't expect much more from the rest of the game, it's a visual masterpiece but it's a game of patience.
I "finished" the game but then ended up looking the ending on YouTube at 5x speed. I should have known that "imma just finish this game real quick before I go to sleep" wasn't possible.
Oh damn. The game really opens up after you leave that first area. Thats basically the tutorial. Once you get access to a vehicle and more of your abilities, it really becomes a blast.
As far as the cutscenes went, at least for my playthrough, I basically only ran into them during boss fights, but the ending really slaps you with a lot of exposition. I really enjoyed the cutscenes though.
