That's because the dems dont slavishly follow everything Biden does.

Yeah, I honestly will never understand how the Republican party all became a cult with Trump as their leader.

My support of Biden is tenuous and continuously CONDITIONAL.

Same with Obama. I CAMPAIGNED for Obama. And then when he folded in the Public Option In the ACA like 6 months into his presidency, I realized he was a mediocre president and a disappointment.

That's all it took for him to lose my loyalty... Just being ineffectual at his job.

But there seems to be no amount of incompetence that would shake the Republicans from loyalty to Trump. No amount of bigotry. No amount of criminal behavior. No amount of stupidity. No amount of treason or sedition.

I think my brain exploded when I saw that MTG and AOC are supporting the same thing.

MAGA and Progressives agree on a lot of things but for different reasons.

Strangely true

This is a very tricky issue.

Cluster bombs are a lot like landmines in the fact that unexploded bombs WILL happen. They WILL be found by innocent children in the future. Those children WILL die or have their limbs blown off.

They are unquestionably evil.

... ON THE OTHER HAND ... We are OUT of other ammunition to send to Ukraine, and if Ukraine can't hold off the Russians, the Russians will kill children, and blow off their limbs. (And kidnap them and send them to be raised by Russian families).

So this truly is a lesser of two evils situation.

I don't envy Biden having to make this call.

I understand how this could be a hard line for people of conscience.

Listen, okay... this is a waste of money... this war will be over soon and that's not lucrative. Where are the conflict corridors, the perpetual conflicts, ye know: real earners.

It's patronizing and condescending of the sponsors of the amendment to tell the Ukrainians what they should or should not have to fight their war. If the USA was invaded, and their town was threatened, I'm sure their attitude toward cluster munitions would be different.
