This is honestly pretty close to what I saw on Acid. I told my partner that I saw eyes and mouths on the wall, but non-threateningly. She thought I meant like a bleeding wall of gross flesh. Now i can show her what I meant.

I always thought acid boosts pattern recognition leading to an exaggerated pareidolia much like Deep Dream turning everything into animals and the like

Same with when I took 2-CE. Any sort of “circle” or dot turned into eyes. Even my Window’s task bar icons turned into eyes. It was cool but seeing art like this definitely takes me back to it haha.

Fr? I dont get anything even close to that. Its super fascinating how much the psychedelic experience differs from person. I have extremely strong geometric visuals and patterning as well as shifting and flowing of objects but one of my closest friends has basically 0 visuals even on very high doses. Its primarily an emotional expereince for him. My roomate as well has a very minimal visual experience as well but he atleast gets some. I wish I could experience psychedelics from their or your perspectives. Im so curious as to what it would be like.

Crazy how it works eh? I remember the last time I did cid. I had to pee so went outside. And Wowie outside was vibrant and melting together. So. I stood there with my dick in my hand for over 8 minutes according to our sober friends. I peed for like 1. But acted like I was still peeing. And then 7 minutes later was “done”. As far as I know. I was peeing the whole damn time. But distracted by the trees and pine needles melting into the sunlight.

Until I saw extremely vivid visuals I was wondering if it was even possible for me. Then one night after 4 hits and a couple joints I saw some weird stuff, like my partner standing there in a civil war uniform with an emu head, or it was like looking at a Teletubbies episode with green hills and their face was in the middle of the sun, while inside at night. It was a neat experience, I knew what was real still and not completely out of it or anything. Other than that it's just the patterns moving usually, funky colours etc.

It's really nice that she channel it into an artwork, a nice piece too.

Younger me read that schizophrenics saw eyes everywhere so I drew several notebooks full of eyes.

For a family member of mine, it was eyes in art work that he thought was following him. At least the last time, he just took them off the wall and turned them around rather than destroying them all.

I was a young teen and doing my best to be edgy, losing control of your mind must be terrifying. I hope he was able to get help or some peace.

He's doing much much better now.

wowza, a kaleidoscope of faces

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Shit I might be schizophrenic…

Like I don’t see that but give me any wall, rug or random patterns and I’ll spot faces at every corner.

[–] TheFarm 5 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Pareidolia is the tendency to see faces in random patterns. Our brains are just kind of wired to recognize facial patterns. It doesn't mean you have schizophrenia, necessarily.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago

Yes, your fully right. But the amount that you see faces is like a spectrum (some see them more than others).

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

Popcorn ceilings have many faces.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

Atleast they are human faces I suppose.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago

I don't see faces in the wall I feel like the "eye" is some kind of camera which follows me whenever I go.

Are those gunshots?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

Huh. Someone I know does art just like this.

My first thought was to go find a can of Raid.
