Sanctions don't replace war, they are war.
For instance, US sanctions are starving Venezuelans, the Venezuelan government is doing its best but can't use it's natural resources to sell off to feed the people. It devastatingly impacts the people living there, just like war.
The person refuting my claims said that food and medical supplies weren't embargoed but says oil sales are prohibited. Oil sales are how the government of Venezuela makes money for its people. How do you buy food and medical supplies without money from your main source of income? US sanctions are killing Venezuelans. Calling this global leftist propaganda is utterly absurd.
Everytime the US bullies a country, there are louder and louder cries to leave it behind. It hasn't been possible until recently due to blind luck of the US getting the world currency after WW2 which was only because it didn't get obliterated like everyone else in Europe.
Now with BRICS, the USA is playing a very dangerous game of chicken.
