You’re not boring. You have wrong friends that don’t care about stuff you care about :)
Either that or sometimes you tell yourself your boring when you feel insecure about the things you like. Happened to me because of some failures i faced in my own field for exemple.

This is a great example of a “false dichotomy”. There’s the middle path of just mumbling incessantly with occasional grunts and sighs.
