People should be retiring earlier, not later. We're going backwards.
Economics
As the ruling class intended. Why let people get enough money to retire, when they can instead buy a 3rd yacht?
This has been the expectation set in the United States for at least the last 10 years. I'm in my 40s now and honestly unless I unexpectedly am handed a vast fortune I don't expect to ever be able to retire 😞
Its time to revolt against cuntfaced corporations, shithead shareholders and politician pricks. Fuck you all. Fuck what you've taken from me and every other normal human on the planet to fund your ego and bullshit lifestyle. Fuck you all!!!
I'm a shareholder. Of course I expect higher values year on year, why would I not?
Enemy of the poorple!
I'm 42. I don't expect to ever retire.
I was looking at my retirement statement yesterday. At the earliest I can legally retire in 2045. I’ve already been working for 22 years as I studied while working. It’s not even half the the full course. Am 42 as well.
That was not a nice reading :-/
Yeah, my plan is to go deeply into debt to send my kids to college, so they don't end up saddled with it, and then just disappear into the mountains and live off the land until I get eaten by a bear.
I dunno about that strat, missing dad isn’t super fun either…. Also maybe not a pleasant death ^^
Watching dead live in the streets while the cancer kills him is not anymore pleasant. Not super fun
These are the 2 alternatives ? In what dystopian shithole are you guys living? Not being able to enjoy life enough I get. The need to provide as well. But existence isn’t so grim…
Sounds like me! I think I might be ready to start contributing 1% to my 401k again though. I’m sure that’ll make a dent.
I doubt anyone will be willing to hire a 75 year old programmer...
Who else remember Liberty 55 ads? They made it look so easy. I wonder how many made it.
My dad worked until the literal day he died.
I expect I'll have to as well.
