I actually have a friend who loves the mines. I don't quite understand why. They never seem to kill anything except teammates. Maybe that's why he likes them...

One game the entire team kept being reinforced right back into the minefield.
Ahhh that's the best
Arg that's the worst
They seem marginally useful in the few situations you have a clear idea of when and from where the enemy will be coming and you'll be defending that point for some time. But even in those situations, I'm not sure why I'd want mines over, say, Cluster Bomb or a Sentry.
I like to have a tesla tower and mines. Either they get zapped or blow up.
While that seems effective, it uses two stratagem slots where autocannon sentry or cluster bomb uses one.
But you can be pressing buttons on escort missions while they do their job
Well yes, two strategems would use more slots than one strategem
Tesla tower is awesome for defence
I dearly hope they add the AT mines from the first game back in. You could upgrade the normal mines to also damage/destroy bug tanks and the like and these just slayed if you were one or two divers short. Short cooldown, deployed in a wide line (not circular like it is now) and devastating - my favourite stratagem. Unexploded ordnance disposal? Just add more unexploded ordnance to the perimeter!
AT mines have already leaked, there are videos of them. They seem to be quite good on first impression.
For when you are violently protective of your personal space.
I haven't unlocked it yet but I was going to skip right to the incendiary one.
I figured they would be good for the defend escaping personnel missions. Area denial to keep the escaping non divers safe, or alight if the flaming creatures get too close.
Honestly, both are pretty bad. Better to invest in gattling and mortar turrets.
I unlocked it, I find it is good on the evacuate personnel missions. It locks down a single direction so the enemy is only coming from 3 directions.
One of the few gems I refuse to buy despite having 50k in requisition slips
I bought everything just to have them all. But it's kind of a pain to have to scroll through all the trash to find what I want to equip.
Future game enhancement: filter a gem from the list.
