Read the article - the headline is not accurate at all. Nowhere does Biden actually call for a ceasefire. They merely mention ongoing negotiations related to one.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 8 months ago

Preciate it :)

[–] [email protected] -3 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Hilarious you think that was because of uncommitted voters.

[–] shoppingrat 1 points 8 months ago (1 children)

hilarious of you to think that it made no difference. if democrats admitted that it did, then they would be giving away the only that really scares them, not being liked and voted for!

[–] [email protected] -1 points 8 months ago (1 children)

ROFL…. Okay… you keep pointing and saying “we did that!” while the rest of us understand that this is part of how these things work.l

If you understood basic economics you would see that this is a tactical approach to getting our elected leaders to do what needs to be done. I have something they want/need. They have the power to affect change the way that me and a lot of other people want. Its called bargaining. If they want what we have, our consent, then they have to earn it. Don't they like to call this country a meritocracy? We know they won't keep their promises after they get our vote. they don't need us after that so why would I so easily give up the only bargaining chip I have when there is no sign they will perform

You still honestly think this wouldn’t have happened if a bunch of kids didn’t pout and whine on the internet?

[–] shoppingrat 2 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

100,000 people in michigan is just a bunch of kids whining and pouting on the internet? good try at badjacketing though.

and its not stopping. in washington the UFCW 3000 are endorsing uncommitted in the primary. so working class union members are whiny pouty children? https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/washington-s-largest-labor-union-endorses-uncommitted-primary-vote-in-rebuke-to-biden/ar-BB1jaQPE I'll save you a click:

The union's executive board reached the endorsement decision on Wednesday night.

"Currently, many voters, and UFCW 3000 executive board, feel that the best path to have the best nominee, and to defeat Trump, is to vote 'uncommitted,'" the union said in a statement. "The hope is that this will strengthen the Democratic party’s ultimate nominee to defeat Trump in the General Election in November."

"We need a nominee who can run and beat Trump to protect workers across this country and around the world," the statement continued.

With over 50,000 members, the union is a force to be reckoned with as Biden seeks to win over voters in the primary contest.

The president is facing an uphill battle as he seeks to mobilize the broad coalition of Americans who delivered his 2020 White House win. His continued supply of weapons and diplomatic cover for Israel's brutal assault on Gaza is one of the major sticking points for young voters and voters of color.

Just this week, more than 100,000 Michigan primary voters cast their ballots "uncommitted" in solidarity with Gazans under siege after a three-week campaign. Biden won the swing state by just over 150,000 votes in 2020.

"We stand in solidarity with our partners in Michigan who sent a clear message in their primary that Biden must do more to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Biden must push for a lasting ceasefire and ending US funding toward this reckless war," the Washington union said.

None of that matters when you understand that this was already going to happen regardless. Just like how Israel was going to attempt/commit genocide regardless of what Biden did.

Most people know that with all things- there something called “nuance.”

We’re done here. I’m not arguing with you about this.

[–] phreekno 5 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

Just like how Israel was going to attempt/commit genocide regardless of what Biden did.

We sanctioned russia for what they did in Ukraine. Personally, I am disgusted but not surprised that we are actively funding this genocide with our taxpayer dollars. Genocide is being done in our name. I'm not about that and i don't most americans are either.

Most people know that with all things- there something called “nuance.”

Most people don't want to be a party to genocide. If you do, you can give money directly to israel if you want but we will keep pushing the issue that we shouldn't be paying for ethnic cleansing, genocide, coups, and all the other shit that this govt gets up to. Its not like any of that is new either. America was originally a colonial project just like israel.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Cool false accusations there bud. No genocide is being done in our name whatsoever. Most Americans know this.

Don’t bother responding. Blocking you as you have nothing to say that I’ll need to know.

Enjoy another 4 years of Trump you idiots

It's really disheartening to see how many people don't understand they're being led astray. The current wave of social media propaganda is aimed at making progressives apathetic and making the dems out to be war mongers, as if the red team would never fund wars. There are only two teams that can win, and one might suck, but the other is legitimately evil. It would be great to have a third party with a chance at winning, but we need to end the conservative party for good before we will ever have that chance.

When it comes to war, yes both sides might be the same. But for all the issues that actually effect us, education, taxes, social rights, workers rights, supreme court, regulatory capture, healthcare, women's rights, trump will ruin everything.

[–] shoppingrat 9 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (2 children)

who said anything about apathetic? i went to a protest today calling for ceasefire. looks more like the dems are apathetic if they think that there is any sort of justification to continue funding genocide.

NYPD, KKK

IDF, They're all the same!

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago (1 children)

We shouldn't be funding any war at all. It's not our conflict, and we have other shit to fix at home with the unlimited war budget Washington is always pulling out of their ass.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 8 months ago (1 children)

So you know- not voting doesn’t mean no president. So when you stay home in protest pouting with your arms crossed, a president WILL be elected. You stating home simply says that you’re fine with the choice being made for you.

And nothing more.

[–] shoppingrat 1 points 8 months ago (1 children)

bold of you to assume i own a home i can sit and pout in

[–] [email protected] -1 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Okay… your cardboard box then.

[–] shoppingrat 2 points 8 months ago

yea means i wouldn't be able to vote anyway cause i wouldn't have a permanent address. personally i rent so i do have an address but yelling at disenfranchised citizens that they are bad because they didn't vote is such a dem thing to do. why don't they house them instead of cast them off as a non-important demographic? i know thats off topic but if i did live in a cardboard box like you suggested, then i wouldn't be able to vote anyway.

[–] Son_of_dad 0 points 8 months ago (2 children)

It sucks but if both sides support Israel in this war, it's kind of a non issue. I also think Americans need to make their own country's issues the focus on their election, not what's going on across the planet.

And again, if the Dems keep fighting over this, Trump will win and he will surely help Netanyahu stomp Palestine, and he'll do it gleefully

[–] shoppingrat 4 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

where the country's money goes is a domestic issue. so far we have given israel over $260 billion dollars for the zionist colonial project. all that money could have been used to prevent the ageing infrastructure that is plagueing the US from crumbling. no instead we give it to a terror state to destroy someone else's infrastructure

[–] Son_of_dad 0 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

A lot of hyperbole and dog whistles in there. In any case, the other candidates are going to support Netanyahu just as much if not more, so again it's a job issue for an election and needs to be worked out at a state and local level I think.

By the way, all this colonialism talk always irks me most cause Americans glassed and colonized my country and continue to colonize and own it, yet they feel they're qualified to criticize others on the subject. My people were murdered, used and made out to be the enemy and we never got so much as an apology, before you guys moved on and are moralizing over there now.

Extract yourself from my Nation first before you call out others

[–] shoppingrat 2 points 8 months ago

what dog whistles? i used factually accurate information. that 260 bil is fact. it is fact that israelis are zionists, they literally call themselves that. israel is a terror state much like the US is a terror state and always has. always will be.

By the way, all this colonialism talk always irks me most cause Americans glassed and colonized my country and continue to colonize and own it, yet they feel they’re qualified to criticize others on the subject. My people were murdered, used and made out to be the enemy and we never got so much as an apology, before you guys moved on and are moralizing over there now.

so you don't want people within the imperial core to protest against the imperial core and its colonial, genocidal policies?? all your paragraph above tells me is i should be protesting against both parties more. i can personally apologize for the US actions but it wouldn't really do much. there are a lot of reparations that need to be paid by the US and that is what we are trying to do. you can't force democrats to do jack shit unless they feel they will lose their power.

Extract yourself from my Nation first before you call out others

i would if i personally could. and that is something that i advocate for. and i'm not calling out other nations that are occupied by US military/capital. i'm calling out my country and israel for conducting an ethnic cleansing.

I think it's the next wave of division propaganda. The same thing happened in the leadup to 2016, trying to make progressives and centrists lose interest by acting like both sides are the same and generating apathy towards voting at all. It's like everyone forgot all the daily life effecting changes trump and his party made. Replacing regulatory heads with corporate interest shills, stacking the courts with obviously biased judges, cutting corporate taxes while raising average rates, gutting funding for anything actually helpful, and giving validation to christian nationalists.

Remember folks, Ajit Pai, Betsey DeVos, The Postal Service, the ACA, and the fucking Coup.
