Ship of Harkinian is not technically emulation, but a full port of Ocarina of Time. And is totally awesome. It has tons of quality of life improvements and enhancements. It also has a built in randomizer so it has infinite replayability.

Yup. I've been doing a yearly randomizer of Oot for several years. It's really comfort food for me.
Also, there a build of SoH that runs on a hacked switch so I can play it from the couch :)
Is there somewhere to read what those changes are? Their home page just says some general stuff. I play a lot of alttp randomizer but oot always spooked me because it's such a bigger game.
Tried looking for a full feature list, couldn't find any. Makes sense, tho, because it would probably be massive.
I've tried SoH before, and my favourite features are 60 FPS gameplay and gyro aiming. It also has a bunch of enhancements like time savers (faster test speed, "Better Owl", time travel using the Song of Time, etc.), alternate assets (= mod support!), bunch of fixes and cut gameplay restoration. If you stream, it also has Crowd Control support. It even has a co-op mode now lol. As for the randomizer stuff, it has an item and check tracker, and a lot of settings for it.
I recommend you just check it out yourself or, alternatively, watch some video on YT that goes more in-depth on the features

I've been using emulation pretty much since I started playing games. It's actually one of the main reasons gaming became my passion (and eventually major money drain).
My favorite thing? I don't have to shuffle different devices to play everything I want - it's even more importent now, since I have a Steam Deck and can have all of them on the go again.
Here's a short list of titles I love that don't show up too often in threads like this one:
- Tetris DX (GBC / mGBA)
- Fantasy Golf Pangya (PSP / PPSSPP)
- Persona 3 Portable (PSP / PPSSPP) - just started NG+ with female protagonist
- Puzzle Quest - Challenge of the Warlords (PSP / PPSSPP)
- Ridge Racer 2 (PSP / PPSSPP)
- Parasite EVE (PSX / DuckStation)
- Captain Toad Tresure Tracker (Switch / Yuzu)
I'm not going to dump my whole library here but these are fun and rare enough worth mention.
Not sure Persona 3 belongs with the others seeing as it just got another rerelease in the form of Persona 3 Reload. Currently playing it on my Series X and it's great. Unfortunately no female protagonist though.
Other than that, Parasite Eve is one of my personal favorites.
I'd agree about P3R if not for the fact that despite remaking the game Atlus still couldn't be bothered to make a definitive edition of P3.
Besides that, you could also argue P3P doesn't really belong here due to being available on Steam but the question was about our favorite games played on an emulator and PSP version is what I'm playing right as I'm typing this :P
Parasite Eve is great, isn't it? I wish we got more RPGs like this set in modern times.

I have a Steam deck, so I have used it for a lot of emulation. I've actually been playing on my phone lately. I bought a USB-C controller that holds my phone. Using Retroarch for most older stuff, but I have the following emulators installed separately:
Aethersx2 for PS2
Dolphin for GC/Wii
Citra for 3DS
Duckstation for PS1
Vita3k for PS Vita
OMG Legend of Legaia. The nostalgia is strong!
I used to collect various systems and games but nowadays don't have much left apart from my Dreamcast stuff. Cost, storage space and just the risk of something becoming unplayable mean emulation is my go to now.
PS1 is probably my most played system, I used ePSXe for years but recently switched to Duckstation and so far so good. Some of my all time favourites are GT2, Future Cop LAPD, Devil Dice, Colin McRae Rally 1/2.
If you want something to play on Dolphin then the GameCube version of Skies of Arcadia is excellent.

I’ve been replaying Dragon Quest 8 (PS2) on my Steam Deck, and it just fills me with joy. Except for the absolutely bonkers choices they hardcoded for buttons and camera movement. Ah, good times.
I'm playing Crash Bandicoot 2 on Lemuroid
I play wave race 64 alot it really is such a fantastic game but it's a very short one, I've played it to death. At one point I think I even beat the world record for the Glacier Coast course but I've heard that records set on emulators aren't counted and even if you're not cheating an emulator run is considered easier than on the real 64.
I really want another wave race title. I wasn't a huge fan of the GameCube one. Just such a nostalgia hit. It was the first game I had on my 64 and I played all through Christmas day. Something about the sunset bay and also the training level really brings me right back to 1998 whenever I play it.
It was never released where I live, but I love using Duckstation (psx/1) to play Vib-Ribbon since I don't have a modded ps1/2.
I absolutely love emulation. It's a great way for anyone to play their favorite retro games or titles they've never played without shilling out hundreds if not thousands because of resellers that probably live in their mom's basement and weigh 6000 pounds.
I highly recommend getting cheap Chinese emulation handheld. I bought the R36s not to long ago for about.$50 and it kicks ass.

If you want to play them on an android phone, lemuroid is a great plug and play emulator. If you want to play on a PC, retroarch works well, but I recommend to follow guides on their website to get started.
I've played Final Fantasy Tactics a lot over the years, I like the PS1 version but the true nostalgia for me is the GBA version.
I've also been loving the exodos / win3x projects, DOS games were my childhood 🙂
I love the mods and graphical upgrades. For example, the "FFT Complete" hack on PSX is still my preferred way to play Final Fantasy Tactics, and I can get a buttery-smooth 60fps on Link's Awakening (2019).
Lately I've also been dabbling into CRT filters with mixed success. Every now and then I'll get the nostalgia buzz, but a lot of the time I feel like I'm just looking at a game with visible scanlines. I've heard it's better on 4K displays though, and I don't have regular access to one.
Not really emulation but my vita and 3ds are still so fun to this day. Both consoles, especially the vita, had so much more potential

For a while it's just been a kingdom hearts machine because I hate fucking chibis and so many 3DS games are chibis except kingdom hearts. I've started playing Xenoblade now and soon I'm gonna try to get into monster hunter. I already have 4-5 hours into monster hunter 4 but still have 0 idea what I'm doing
I use a Mister FPGA for emulation of pretty much all 5th gen and older consoles, as well as a ton of arcade games. I like to use it with my CRTs - it has direct analog video output, and it's highly accurate hardware emulation with effectively zero latency by nature of it being FPGA. It was expensive but it turned out to be right at home in my CRT setup, and I couldn't be happier with it.

Oh man I like romhacks. Great way to explore old games. I ended up playing Hyper Metroid and it’s fucking great
I love emulation. Been using it since NESticle in the late 90s. By far the best thing about it is save states. Being able to stop playing whenever you want and resume your progress was a revelation!
I've been playing Drill Dozer (GBA) on my phone via Lemuroid. I looked into it after reading it was made by Game Freak and thinking "Hold on, they make non-Pokemon games?". Finished the main story line today, will try to 100% it now. A very fun game with some interesting mechanics, good story and art style. Playing it on a phone can be challenging at times, since the game relies heavily on L/R triggers, but a good grip/finger position or laying the phone on a table sometimes helps a lot.
Other than that, I have been playing some old NES games from my childhood, and a few others I've missed out. Recently played Bomberman, MegaMan and Mike Tyson's punch out.
I just have all my old consoles, a crt, and an input switcher for composite and hdmi. 7 consoles on my bookshelf and 5 more in my entertainment center. I could probably save a healthy amount of space in my basement with emulation lol
