That would be uni (sea urchin gonads although people like to call it roe hehe) with quail egg. Heavenly taste!
While I agree that it is one of the most delicious things out there, it's also an acquired taste, heh.
Very oceanic and gooey.
If you can ever get it extremely fresh (as in essentially straight out of the urchin), a lot of the slimy texture and fishy taste goes away.
I hope to try that one day, but I still love that briney oceanic goop!
Yeah the texture might throw me
Yeah, lots of people won't touch it. But, it's kinda like a softer, more squishy raw oyster with that lovely brine kick.
Maybe I’m just not a sushi person…
