Thanks for the stunning photo. I'd love to get to The Rock one day

I live in Canada, always meant to visit Newfoundland especially the early viking settlements. Never found my way there though because it's cheaper to get to Iceland instead 😜

But not as magical

Is that the place where John Dunsworth shot that video about building little concrete beaches?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Yeah cracking shot I initially thought it was a) a painting by Simon stålenhag and b) somewhere in Norway.

WTF is NFLD?

I thought that was the girly football they play in the States with all the padding and massive gaps between everything

NFLD is the commonly used abbreviation of Newfoundland, which itself is an island off of the east coast of Canada. It's one of the largest islands in the world. It's also my home.

It doesn't really take much time to type the full name, you know.

It also doesn't take much time to google. What does take more time is making two sarcastic and backhanded comments across two entirely different posts.. No human being is expected to know everything nor every acronym. But people are expected to make the bare minimum effort to try and figure something out or if they ask someone for clarification to at least do so in a funny or polite way. You did neither. You came in with a really negative attitude and spread it across two different threads.

There are plenty of posts that name drop specific things or places or use acronyms that I'm unaware of. If it isn't in the comments I just google it. If I am asking for clarification then I do so politely. Please try that next time instead of this really unnecessary bitchy attitude.

Edit: Said community instead of threads.

I would never, ever expect someone to have to Google something that requires local knowledge. I would absolutely not use an acronym that's very specific to one country on an international community

I would've thought a prolific poster such as yourself would completely understand that!

And I hope your day is as pleasant as you are.

[–] [email protected] -2 points 10 months ago

That would be great, thanks.

Sorry, which states are you referring to? I don't have local knowledge of that place.
