Taken on the last night in my favourite city in the world, if anyone fancied giving me a job over there that’d be grand

  1. Obviously I mean November 2022.

Fuck me, maybe I deserve Reddit.

Unlike reddit, you can edit post titles here

How do I do that please? Not seeing the option on Memmy or wefwef, does it need to be from desktop?

I'm not sure about either of those apps, but on a browser there should be a 3 dot icon and from there the edit button is the notepad/pencil icon

Got it, thank you!

I was in Ho Chi Minh a few weeks ago! It's a beautiful and exciting place.

We started off in Hanoi, wended our way down and flew home from HCMC a few weeks later. Was genuinely just the best time of my life and being back in the UK has been extra awful ever since.

I appreciated HCMC because it was slightly easier to walk around / breathe in than Hanoi, and the War Remnants museum was absolutely one of the best museums I’ve ever visited. But Christ, I loved every place we went in Vietnam - even the questionable toilets.

And the FOOD.

I thought Hanoi was much more pleasant that HCMC, though I was there about 10 years ago. HCMC felt more oppressive as a big city compared to Hanoi.

Agreed about the food though. I don't think I ate anything there that wasn't delicious.

I found HCMC very walkable and there were so many trees and parks that even the heat was bearable.

Completely agreed about the War Remnants Museum, it moved me to tears within minutes. I'm from Malaysia, one of the places where Agent Orange was first trialed before it was put to use as a weapon, so that particular exhibition hall was so personal since a family friend was born disabled because of it.

On a lighter note, there was a bánh mì chảo place within a 15 minutes walk from the War Remnants Museum that was so good I am still dreaming about it to this day.

Keep it and accept your new time travel powers.

I love rainy night shots. The way the colors reflect on the wet pavement does it for me. Great shot!

This is almost next door to the hotel? (I guess that doesn't narrow it down but we stayed in the same street)

Pro tip: if you want to get on the locals’ good side, call the city Saigon instead.
