I'm starting to think that perhaps every Republican attack on Biden's record is complete and utter bullshit.

Republicans sure as hell aren’t going to bring this up.

And he’d lose a lot of votes if more Democrats were aware of it. It really is past the time for propping up excessively cheap fossil fuels. Let’s cut the corporate welfare and start weaning Americans off fossil fuels by setting the expectation that they will get more expensive and less available

Maybe. I personally have a gas powered vehicle that doesn’t get disabled by software updates and has zero privacy concerns, and no plans to buy a new one any time soon, so lower gas prices are welcome now although I’d like to move to electric later.

No, I’m not putting myself through that cost right now just for you or anyone else.

Ideally we get consumer protections that quit all that privacy and anti-repair bs. And we could stop propping up the oil industry and idk… put that money towards helping people transition to other forms of transportation. Improving public transit, micro-mobility, walkable cities, and where necessary electric vehicles.

We can hold on to our gas vehicles while not going out of our way to artificially prop up gas.

That’s why I plan to move to electric later. Right now there’s too much fuckery for me to give up a paid-for vehicle. Gas could be $7 per gallon and it would still be cheaper for me than a monthly car payment plus aggravation. Some things need to be addressed before I’m a buyer again.

I seem to remember a wannabe dictator saying "Drill Baby Drill"

Sarah Palin was a menace.

[–] Nudding 5 points 10 months ago

Gee I wonder why? 🤔

[–] TheDeepState 2 points 10 months ago

Drill baby drill!

Why would he mention it? Democratic voters would prefer to spin that down and Republicans are not going to give him any credit for it. I had a relative recently say my niece's boyfriend who works in oil would likely be out of a job if Biden gets re-elected. Not sure I could roll my eyes any faster.
