I mean, why not? Why shouldn’t a new generation have an updated experience of something you people obviously liked?

If you don’t like the reboot, that’s ok. You can still enjoy the memory of the original one.

Why does it need to be updated? Just play the originals if they're still popular and then make something new instead.

Counter argument: sometimes our memory of shows is rosier than reality. Take Looney Tunes, for example. Some of those original episodes made fun of mental illness, PTSD, even suicide.

In other cases a rebooted show is absolutely stellar, like BSG.

OG Looney Toons is also incredibly racist.

Because children have different tastes in every generation. Would you watch a cartoon from the 1950s? No, because it’s boring by today’s standards.

I strongly disagree. Children have no frame of reference, they'll watch whatever is on. When I was young I watched a lot of Hanna-Barbera cartoons and they were made decades before I was born.

Are you kidding? Speak for yourself. I loved retro cartoons like Looney Tunes and the Jetsons when they aired on Teletoon Retro as a kid. Everybody has their own tastes regardless of generation.

As long as Butch Hartman doesn't get any residuals.

There is a whole lot more wrong with Hartman than what that article mentioned. If you have the time, Saberspark made an excellent (and long) video about Hartman and his fall from grace.
