For me it has to be:

  1. Helix mattress ($1,217). Sleep is great.
  2. Home gym power cage & weights (~$1,000). Look good, feel good, get strong.
  3. Netgear Nighthawk AXE7800 ($339). No more random, annoying internet disconnects/slowness.
  4. Books ($0 @ library)
    • "Ultralearning" - Scott Young (how to learn efficiently)
    • "Enlightenment Now" - Steven Pinker (the world overall is improving)
    • "The Bogleheads' Guide to Investing" - Taylor Larimore (how to invest)
  5. PS5 ($500). So many great games like witcher 3, god of war, spiderman.

I'm searching for some more deep value purchases. Give me what you've got.

Maybe a controversial one:

Macbook (or any Mac for that matter)

I don't mind paying the premium because they just work. I've owned 3 over the last 10 years and each are still running perfectly to this day. No need to ever do anything to them. It helps that I'm not much of a gamer and work in the creative field so they offer everything I need. The M series chips are also blazing fast.

I can totally see how they'd not work for a lot of people though, and I know lots of people love to tinker with PCs!

Lucky you didn't buy the 2011 Macbook Pro like me. The GPUs on this model terminally overheated due to a manufacturing fault. Not the premium experience I was expecting!

Damn yeah that sucks! Was it covered, considering it was a manurfacturing fault?

They did fix this for a short time in 2015/2016 but I had already cut my losses and sold it as spares/repair https://www.macrumors.com/2017/05/20/apple-ends-2011-macbook-pro-repair-program/

You could sidestep the issue by modifying the bios to disable the AMD chip, and only use intel integrated video. That did work to give you a somewhat usable laptop & retrieve your data. When you fork out for an Apple product though that is precisely the kind of thing you want to avoid!
