Hey all! Just wanted to shout out the app we are working on for Lemmy on iOS. We love Apollo and took lots of inspiration from it, but also have a lot of our own twists on the experience (Federation has it's own twists on top of a single website!).

We are actively pushing updates a few times a week right now and building up a solid foundation if "1.0" features to submit to the app store in the coming weeks/months.

Personally it's be a great excuse to learn Swift, SwiftUI and iOS development in general. What a blast!

Wefwef is the closest thing to Apollo I’ve experienced so far https://wefwef.app/settings/install

Yup, this is Apollo carbon copy alright. And I LOVE IT. I was honestly worries since my experience with webapps was less than stellar for a while, they're trash at best. But this is surprisingly fluid and feels close to a native app. I've both Mlem app and this, and so far this has HEAPS more features backed in and the only advantage Mlem has over it is that it is an app.

I’m trying a few apps, as well as MIam, but the one thing I miss from all of them is the Apollo condensed mode, a la old Reddit, but smarter. I think the first that scratches that itch will keep me as a customer.

Top Tip for anyone reading: Definitely "install" it to your home screen; it makes the gestures work so much better.

Second this! Shocking how similar it feels despite being a web app.

Holy shit, this is the one. I hope a native one comes out one day, but I’m shocked at how good this web app is.

it might be the closest from an ui/ux point of view but it still has a lot of issues with posts, messages, commentaries not loading.

But it is one to keep an eye on, I'll give it that.

Got a link for the TestFlight?

It’s a web app. Just follow the instructions to put it on your home screen and launch it from there.
